Armory
Situated on the ground floor of the Grand Master's Palace
in Valletta, the Armory hosts a unique collection of Renaissance
and Baroque armour, weaponry and artillery.
Most of the exposed objects were, under the rule of the
order of St. John, kept by the Grand Master. The collection
illustrates the development of the armors and weapons
during a period of three hundred years, from the sixteenth
to the eighteenth century. Between the exposed are unique
pieces, like the Turkish arms captured by the Knights
in the course of the 1565 Great Siege.
